Building on 26 years experience in the electrical industry - with the past 18 years concentrating on lighting design - Lee Perko (formerly Harris) established the architectural lighting design firm of LIGHT+SPACE in 2002. Her commitment to this specialized field is reflected in her PE (Professional Engineer), LC (Lighting Certification), and LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) credentials. LIGHT+SPACE has provided lighting design for several award-winning projects in northern Nevada and northern California.

With a dedication to working in collaborative teams, LIGHT+SPACE has quickly grown a reputation for providing unique and technically-sound solutions for both small and large spaces. To assure that her clients benefit from the latest research on lighting technology, Ms. Perko actively participates in continuing education for electrical industry professionals. She also trains audiences large and small in the fundamentals of lighting design.

Ms. Lee Perko, PE, LC, LEED AP has extensive experience working on projects with stringent design and budget requirements and is well adept at researching current technology. She has been an electrical utility engineer, a lighting manufacturers' representative, and an energy consultant.

Lee graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. She received “Young Engineer of the Year” Award from the Nevada Society of Professional Engineers, 1993 and IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America) Outstanding Service Recognition Award, South Pacific Coast Region, 2000. Most recently she received the Lighting Analysts Charles H. Loch Memorial Award 2008. Ms. Perko was a speaker at the International Association of Lighting Designers Conference held in Cancun, Mexico. She also enjoys hiking, biking, and traveling
